Third party seller via Walmart has 1000′ boxes of Monster Cable CAT6 for $59.99 plus tax, free shipping.
I was looking for a spool on eBay and found something similar, and on searching for a spec sheet found it on Walmart around a month ago. It’s the real deal; 23AWG rated for 500mhz, has a plastic spline and rip cord, and is UL rated. The box is neat, it has a suspended spool inside so as you pull it’s actually rolling out instead of unwinding like a stationary box so there’s almost no risk of tangling and there’s not much curl. Every run was fine, and passed on a Fluke certifier to CAT6 standards, so I’m very happy.
There’s no mention of it on Monster’s website, so I’m assuming that it’s a part that’s well end of life, or might have only been sold to installers. Unlike all other Monster Cable products, it does not appear to have gold-plated anything.
