Ibi is a stand alone storage device which was originally designed to be a smart photo manager. It can collect photos from your social media accounts and store them locally. It does a few other things as well, see the product page for more details.
The BIG NEWS is they just released a new setting which allows Local network access which basically makes this thing a network-attached storage (NAS) device. I just enabled the setting and was able to access it from my windows network.
Here is the announcement:
We’re also introducing a new Local network access feature. When this feature is enabled using the new ibi Dashboard, you’ll be able to easily drag and drop files to and from your ibi device. You’ll also be able to open and save files on the device directly from your PC and Mac applications.
You can enable this new feature by signing in to https://ibi.sandisk.com, going to Settings, clicking on your device’s name, and then Manage Device.
